What does it take to build a pipeline tunnel?

📌 Technical and operational requirements for the construction of a gas pipeline tunnel.

The construction of a gas pipeline tunnel requires a precise combination of engineering, specialized machinery and regulatory compliance. Eurohinca applies technology trenchless to install gas pipelines with safety and minimum affection.

1. Site survey and technical planning

An analysis is performed geotechnical and topographic survey to identify soil type, ideal depth and hydraulic conditions. This allows us to define the optimal layout of the pipeline.

Selection of the appropriate construction method

Depending on the terrain conditions and the length of the crossing, a choice is made between techniques such as the microtunneling or the Direct Pipe method. Both allow crossing sensitive infrastructures such as rivers, railways or urban areas without trenching.

3. Pipeline engineering and design

The tunnel diameterThe working pressure, materials and thrust required to ensure the stability of the pipeline and its durability.

4. Permits and applicable regulations

It is mandatory to obtain environmental, municipal and sectorial authorizations. In Spain, this type of work must comply with the provisions of the Technical Regulation for the Distribution and Use of Gaseous Fuels (RD 919/2006).

5. Execution with specialized machinery

Tunnel boring machines are used with closed shield (EPB or hydroshield)The equipment includes laser guidance systems, hydraulic thrust control, and ventilation and debris removal equipment.

✅ Safety and permanent control

Eurohinca applies industrial safety protocols, monitoring of internal pressures and structural verification of the pipe, complying with ISO 9001, 14001 and 45001 certifications.
